An independent manufacturer's representative can be an individual or small business that represents one or more manufacturers' products in the marketplace. Independent Manufacturer representatives are often independent sales reps that choose to represent one manufacturer or several manufacturers of complementary products at the same time and work on commission only compensation for sales closed. Independent reps in the USA are also known as 1099 reps.
